accually, stretched tires will generally turn slightly better than an unstretched becuase of the rigidity of the sidewall

you can steer with …
you can steer with stretched tyres…
and you will actually get a more rigid ride when driving, due to less cushion in the sidewall and less body roll. wide tyres are also very expensive and don’t look anywhere near as nice.
also, is most european countries, having tyre tread outside the fender is illegal, so if u want wider rims, this is what you do.

They don’t feel the tire looks cool stretched it’s so they can fit a wider and lower offset wheel and tuck it with out rubbing issues.
Plus the likelihood of that coming unseated is pretty uncommon.

Granted this does …
Granted this does NOT look like a good way to stretch a tire. However, I live in Japan and this has been going on for a long time. A lot of the drifters do this to help with clearance issues instead of rolling the fenders. I have Never seen or heard of anyone having problems with this setup. As far as being able to afford the tires, it’s not really an issue of being able to afford the tires, it’s about being able to afford A LOT of tires. With drifting, why be expensive tires just to burn?
