It's the long pause ...
It's the long pause between such diverse items that I well remember (and why I included this example)..... long pause, slow turn of the head - "Mollie"......very effective. But wouldn't be allowed to happen in today's TV where constant on screen action is required - for fear of today's channel zappers using the pause to switch channels. But perhaps that's what's wrong with TV today - no chance to pause and reflect.

This series was my ...
This series was my first memory of That's Life, with the Mills/Campbell/Baynham and Sugden line-up. It was always the best part of 1980s Sunday TV, up there along with Bullseye, Highway and Spitting Image. Always talk of the Monday morning playground and constantly reminded me of "school in a few hours time". I could strongly relate to the serious stories they put out due to personal experiences, but on the other hand I also had a laugh at the Odd Odes part, as Cyril Fletcher called them.

I'm not sure he is, ...
I'm not sure he is, it sounds like made-up quasi-Oriental language, and probably closer to Chinese! If he was speaking Japanese, he'd say something like "oi inutachi, mizu o nomitai?"
