I hate them!!! I was talked into the tires before I did the AIDSLIFECycle from San Francisco to LA ride on my road bike and I had 6 flats in 24 hours. After I got home, I got a flat on front and back, simultaneously, and the bike shop said”it must be your rim tape”. I plan on replacing them as soon as I can.

Great for glass, i guess, but when i see a pile of glass i avoid it. But you don’t see one small furniture nail, and they go right on threw. Sure the tire is better than other tires but not good enough.

The 700×25c …
The 700×25c Specialized Armadillo’s have not worked out well for me during my daily 32 mile commute along rural roads. I would get, on average, 1 flat per week, and the hole left by the flat would ruin the tire. I pay around $55 for the Arma’s. I switched to Schwalbe Marathon’s for about the same cost. They don’t roll as well as the Arma’s (they will only take 115psi vice the Arma’s 125psi) but no flats yet. They also have better wet-weather tread. So I’m no longer a fan of Specialized Arma’s.

I have to admit i dont know anyone who rides on broken glass, but i do know that everyone i ride with rides on goat head infested trails, so until a tire is developed for actual mountain bike trail conditions, this whole story is complete dog shit, im sorry thats just my .02 cents

I switched my road …
I switched my road bike to 700×28C armies a year ago. My rear wheel is starting to show tread wear after ~1500 miles (I climb a alot of hills but I’ve *never* gotten a flat. This may be the first tire I wear out before my first flat!

That said, out of the 5 I’ve owned, I did have a problem with one of them coming apart where red and black rubber meet.

There’s a new all black one out that I’ll get next time.

i changed from borough 700 42 to borough armadillo 700 32…its faster and no punctures but i find it a harder ride….on the hands, maybe thats on all 32’s but its tough..gloves are needed
