Driving Lessons & Tire Care : How to Drive a Car With Manual Transmission

Posted by: admin | Posted in: Uncategorized

Driving a car with manual transmission requires a good balance between engine power and the throttle, as the clutch is pressed to disengage the engine power during gear shifts, and it is gently released while the gas pedal is pressed. Drive a manual transmission vehicle with instructions from an ASE-certified technician in this free video on driving.

    just release the …
just release the clutch slowly in the 1st gear (to get going), medium speed release in the 2nd (to avoid that annoying “jump” which i used to usually experience in the 2nd), and quicker releases on the higher gears (to prevent engine braking)…

when downshifting, only release clutch when you have matched the rpm from the previous higher gear (to minimize engine braking)… you won’t feel a thing dude… hope that helped.. take care…

    1st gear- slow …
1st gear- slow clutch release from full clutch
2nd gear- slow clutch release from half clutch
    3rd-5th – quick clutch release…

when downshifting, only release clutch after you’ve matched the rpm from your previous gear, and do it with finesse…

works perfectly even on motorbikes… you won’t feel a thing…

and one more, learn to “feel” the car or listen to it, no need for tachometers really…

It sounds like your letting the clutch out too fast when shifting….you know you gradually let out the clutch while engaging the gas when taking off….do the same when shifting…I used to have the same problem

i wished i bought an automatic car. THere is just no point in manual gearbox. I’m not on a racetrack and simply need a good posture driving position with comfort. MAnual is a waste of tim in heavy traffic. Automatic is the way to go. Automatic is more relaxed. Automatic is the future with paddle shifters. all you end up doing with manuals is pushing the cluth all day and it isnt very relaxing. Manual gearbox equals waste of time. THese people who laugh at automatics are morons

I’m from the UK. 99% of cars are manual. the only people who drive automatics are disables people and american tourists so I know EXACTLY what I’m talking about.

    first of all. he’s …
first of all. he’s just telling new comers to driving a manual to use RPMs. I have been driving for years and I know that you can just listen to the engine. however, people who are not as car-savvy, need to use the RPM method. so you can stop assuming when you don’t know what you are talking about.

    I was taught to …
I was taught to hold the clutch at the friction point with some gas when shifting up, then to release and apply more gas. This is what he’s doing in the video, but I was wondering if you still have to do that at higher rpm ranges like 3500-4500. is it ok to just put the clutch in shift and release it more quickly instead?

  23. shanehokanstud Says:

    What is it with …
What is it with everyone else in the world on Americans? You obviously don’t have a clue what the you’re talking about. I’d even bet that a 14 year old fucktard like yourself (and all your other fudge packing, guzzling, eating mates that think it’s cool to talk shit) have never met American in your life anyway. Putting your ignorance on public display just makes you sound like gobbling, dick holster. Do America, and the (rest of the world) and STFU.
