The jcb 3ciii of …
The jcb 3ciii of roughly the same era is the same, in that it has no glow plugs etc. It does however have a “start pilot” pot on the dash and a plunger, you fill the pot with ether, and press the plunger once to inject a exact amount of ether to fire it up when very cold.
I generally just give it a squirt from the aerosol the same as you though as Ive never bothered fixing the plunger mech

im just a backyard mechanic mainly on just my trucks and cars nothing heavy duty, but i think the altenator could be weak it should be between 13-15 volts 14 is the avg.

– Oh, while I’m on this subject, i need to ask (and any answer from any1 is welcome). i have a ‘75 Case 850 4-n-1 bucket crawler, the battery can sit for months and be strong & after driving around for a few hrs, the battery seems nearly dead. the alt puts out 12-13 Amps, belts don’t slip, connections seem ok, what else could it be?
