    I’m glad this worked out for you. Unfortunately I tried the exact same mixture you did and I did get insane curl definition on my mostly 4b hair but I also got totally STRIPPED hair. Now I did shampoo prior to applying it because I had a really dirty scalp so maybe that had something to do with it. I’ve done a co-wash and ACV rinse since and my hair still feels like straw. I’m not sure how to fix this; right now I’m just keeping it simple with water and plain coconut oil.

    love this… I have always use baking soda to clarify and then put my deep conditioner right over it without rinsing, and I never understood why it made my hair so soft! Definitely much different from rinsing in between the two. I just did it your way today and it smelled like a perm, yikes lol but did not act like one. Thanks

    putting regular conditioner in your hair cannot be a good thing…especially if u just leave it in there…….

    ma’am who mentioned trying this again? did i say id be trying this again? if i did it was a typo. dont be scared. im not trying to scare ppl off either, clearly my hair just doesnt take this method. u never know. maybe the conditioner i used reacted bad with the soda.

    no offense … but why would you try something like this again if it took your hair out? maybe it just doesn’t work for you. i’ve learned thru my journey that what works for some doesnt work for everyone. i ALMOST thought about trying this, but after reading your comment… i’m scared. sorry about your hair loss…..

    Um no. Baking soda is good for washing hair. It’s actually SULFATES that dry the hair out. And that is in normal shampoo. Hence, why people use baking soda……

    I’m so sorry to here about that. I think you should see a dermatologist and my get tested for certain allergies. You could also see a licensed natural hair stylist that can help you with the damage to your hair.

    i used 4th a cup …
    i used 4th a cup bakin soda and 1 cup conditioner ….i rinsed my hair after having it in for 1 hr and my hair was indeed oft but was falling out as i rinsed in big clumps… i have patches in some areas(very short broken pieces of hair) where it seems that the bakin soda chewed @ my hair. im so sick with it. somebody please give me the directions again in detail so i can figure out where i went wrong.

    your hair is so long and beautiful. i tried the baking soda and i luv it i will continue to use it even where my hair is tight in the middle (i think it becomes matted from when i was doing relaxers -scalp damage idk) neway it even fluffed that hair up.
