Collectible Brochures

Old Brochures that you really want!

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet.

Why do people think that a stateowned oil company that would make gas cheap and employ 1000s is evilCommunism?

Posted by: admin | Posted in: Uncategorized

When I lived in Alaska during the 04 elections there was a proposition by some candidate that I don’t know the name of that suggested that Alaska state should allow the residents of Alaska to vote for or against a State owned oil and refinery company. and a month or so before the 04elections the idea was scrapped. The theory of the state owned oil company is that since the oil right in Alaska are on state land then it is owned by the state and therefor not under OPEC and therefore would not have to be placed on the world market and would simply be sold to America and Canada and Mexico thus eliminating the competition and making it cheaper since the government would drill for more oil unlike the oil companys who drill very little and pretend theres no possibility that producing oil is possible. I thought that was a great idea but apparently there hardcore capitalists that think low gas prices and more jobs for Americans is to “Communism” Why? Capitalism is free market and free trade but that doesn’t mean that our natural resources like oil should be hauled off to The People’s Republic Of China!! American tax payers should have the benefit of having a government that will not whore out our natural resources when we are paying over 4 a gallon.Shouldn’t Alaska’s oil fields be maned by State hourly workers instead of private companies like Exxon/HEss .I’m just wondering why the capitalist’s would feel persecuted by low energy prices and spawning employment rates. can someone elaborate?

I want to further explain how this system works in Alaska because the last time I posted this answer there were 1or2 people who said it was a monopoly which I find funny because according to capitalism eliminating monopolys is like taking away the incentive of producers to produce but anyway. IN Alaska since the discovery of oil the State has established itself as the rightful and legal owner of it’s mineral rights and reserves the right to lease it mineral rights to Oil Companies for it own economical benefits. Alaska leases it oil rights on 10yr lease agreements to Conoco-phillips oil company .If a state owned oil company and refinery were to happen Alaska would stop leasing the mineral rights out and buy the equipment and materials from the company and probably rehire the employees and continue the same work .The oil companys would be able to set up shop anywhere else in the state or in the world if they so please and they will. Once this happens the elected officials who run the company would establish the minium price to be set that would ensure that “business” would remain cost effective. The Oil fields would be used to the full capacity to ensure there is an abundant amount of crude to keep prices low. A private company like conco phillips in this situation would simply reduce the amount of oil produced to create the falsehood of there not being enough oil and then marking the price up!!! The state owned company would atleast double the production thus creating more jobs and selling oil at wholesale prices thus making gas cheap! If you don’t believe me feel free to do your research!

in reply to- Ubuntu Linux
A state owned Oil and refinary company is not a monopoly!! The state oned company would compete with the major oil companies. If the oil companies want to sell 4 dollars a gallon gas while the state sells it for a 1.50 then they have every right to the oil companies will make more money in actuality because the state owned companies would remove a a portion of the available oil supply from the world supply then the oil companys can have an excuse to rip off the People’s republic of China and that way your family can get a huge return on the Exxon stock!!!

Take over 1 company people don’t like..it would be easier to take over more..where would it end?

You did not listen there is no “taking over” The mineral rights are owned by the state and the state had the right to lease the mineral rights to the oil companies. All the state oned oil company would do is tap the oil field with there own drill and produce oil from there own property.and refine it and sell it for cheap while still allowing big oil companies to operate so as long as they pay there “RENT” because the oil companies do not own the mineral rights because no one can own mineral rights but either the state or the federal government!!!
I'd also like to let all those who are about to say the government stinks when it comes to busness. My gas and electric is contracted by the state and pretty much is ran by the state with price and budget caps. Gasoline has doubled in the past 2 years!! however my electric and gas have not! I'd say the government is doing a fine job when it comes to regulating energy and commodities! Lets not forget to mention the Irs which is the biggest debt collector in the country. They have manage to collect everyones taxes no problem. Have you ever heard of the government going bankrupt because the IRS wasn't doing a good job at collecting debt.???
Ok now if your going to say the government should not run and own an oil company because they are no good at it . The I want you to explain why a state contracted heating gas company and a state ran electric company are doing just fine? Why do people fear the government when there is talk of having state owned oil companies yet they fail to realize local, state, and federal government does a great job at making your electricity, bringing you heating gas??? Are people fearful that the government might actually beable to help society?? Can hardcore capitalist explain why in Kuwait gasoline is less than a dollar per gallon ?? Kuwait has a state owned oil and refinery that take a small percentage of the oil and sells it in there own country for cheap regardless of the world market conditions!!! Why do people insist on supporting suck a strict for of capitalism when is clear that 5 dollar per gallon gas prices are now helping the economy as much as it's benefiting the few.?

Hi, again, some misconceptions. There are actually very few public utilities left in the USA, almost all of them are now private providers who have exclusive contracts with the localities that they serve.

One of the real problems with state owned companies is inefficiency, because they do not exist to make profit, they exist as part of an overall national policy which is often to provide as many jobs as possible or to subsidize delivery of services, or some other feel-good idea that makes sense at the time, but always the poor economics of the institution will always catch up with the noble ideals that the entity was founded to provide.

And as for your example of Kuwait, that is a very specific example and is not the norm for the rest of oil producing countries. First off, the government and the people agreed that everyone would share in the profits, and the population is small enough that there is plenty to go around. With a country like the USA, dividing the profits up between everyone leaves so little per person that there is very little incentive for even getting up in the morning to go to work. Secondly, since the oil rigs are already in existence, the cost of extracting the oil is one of the lowest in the world, and the low price to their own people is subsidized by foreign buyers who pay $120 for a barrel that cost $19 to get out of the ground. Also, in Kuwait the work force is largely imported from developing countries with very low wages and poor working conditions (although certainly better than their home country – as someone interviewed on NPR said years ago, the cure for sweat shops is more sweat shops). Right across the border, in Saudi Arabia which also has a relatively small population and huge oil profits, these conditions are not the same because there the entire oil wealth is owned by the royal family, one of the reasons why 15 out of 19 9/11 terrorists were Saudis and not Iraqis or Yemenis.

How is it that soda towers ALWAYS know to stop when your cup is full?

Posted by: admin | Posted in: Uncategorized

I work at a movie theater and I pour soda all the time. I put the cup on the grill of the soda tower, it slides down and hits a tab, and the soda tower dispenses soda just until the soda reaches the top of the cup. The soda DOES NOT spill over. The tower just KNOWS that it has to stop. So I thought maybe that the slant of the grill, the shape of the cups or the weight of the beverage had something to do with this ability, however I can assure you that none of these are factors. I've tested a variety of cup shapes and weights, and have applied varying amounts of force to the tab on the soda tower, and still, the soda has always stopped coming out just before the container would overflow. Although actually I tried filling up a bowl one time and the soda overflowed… But the soda tower is nonetheless incredibly mysterious and I would be so happy if someone could please explain how it knows how full my cup is. Thanks so much.

um when you tell it what cup your using, it knows the amount of liquid to put in the cup to fill it!

same with those coffee machines, that don't spill the coffee, it knows the cup size, and how much drink per size…

What is the next evolution in personal transportation beyond the automobile and when?

Posted by: admin | Posted in: Uncategorized

We Americans are stuck on the automobile. We want to make it more fuel efficient, but when we do, we can’t carry or tow anything in it! Does somebody have something on a drawing board, at least that is gonna get us what we need, beyond just moving our own bodies around? A transporter perhaps?

Problem with trains/buses/taxis etc is that people don’t have a space that is Always theirs. People seem to like keeping all sorts of junk in their cars. If you leave stuff like CD on a train it’s a real hassle to get them back. There’s also issues about frequency of service, and the ability to go where you want, and not where the service goes (Pre Beeching you could get a 10 minute bus in your neighbourhood/walked, and go to to your local rail-station to travel to MOST large UK towns, and many small towns/villages, then 10 minute bus journey/walk at the other end.)

perhaps something like a road train could be an idea. “trailers” (goods/people, or a mixture) hook up to other trailers, which are then pulled around by a big tractor unit. You’ll want a tiny electric motor on the “trailer” to park it up. If you need more space than a single unit has, simply hook annother one up!

If it was in a city it would work better to run the tractor unit on a dedicated track, and arrange things so that “trailers” could join it/leave without needing the tractor unit to change speed. If going away from towns maybe have/hire a small tractor unit, into which the trailer plugs in, and you’ve got what amounts to the kind of car we have today.

problem with transporter (as per star trek) is a) nobody have figured out how to transport humans yet. b) the energy requirements/efficiency would be likely to render them prohibitively expensive to run. Might be fine for cross continent travel, but for the daily commute I think not.

How to tell a lawn tractor's battery is dead?

Posted by: admin | Posted in: Uncategorized

I have a lawn tractor (Yardman riding mower) model number
13aj771g713, Serial number: 1c155b40193. I used it for two years. Last year I had to charge the battery the first time and it works fine. This year when I charge, the charger displays an error, meaning the battery is dead, or the connection is not good, according to the manual of the charger. I made sure the connection is good.

So I am wondering maybe the battery is dead? How can I make sure? I have a multitester but it only can check batteries of of 1.5v – 9v. The tracor's battery is 12v.

Bring it to an auto parts store. I know Auto-Zone does this. Most of them have a load tester that'll determine whether it's good or not. It may well read 12 volts on a meter but still not be any good. Most of the automotive parts stores will test it for free.

Is there a legal limit on how wide farm equipment can be to drive on public roads?

Posted by: admin | Posted in: Uncategorized

I met a combine this morning (pulling the grain head) on a two lane oil road and he had tires in the ditch and so did I! The equipment I drive is big, but this new stuff is huge! Our gravel roads are narrow, so if I'm driving my pickup, I usually back up to a field approach or something. I'm not complaining, (I love the country life) but everything is going to continue to get bigger. What are your thoughts?
Carl, you're funny. Get up before the farmer does. Around here this time of year I think the only time a farmer gets some sleep is when the trucks and wagons are full and in the shed and it's raining.
Bohemian… maybe it's different where you live, but around here, grain heads are used to harvest soybeans too. I agree with the young kids in your answer. But I am guilty too. I was hauling loads to town at 14 years old. Come to think about it, I was driving to a small town on gravel at 8 years old to buy Dad cigarettes in a stick shift pickup with a pillow and signed check. I'm dating myself here! Thanks for the answers!

You would have to check the state regs on "wide load" restrictions to find your answer.

I hated driving on the road with a tractor. Some of the bridges around here dont allow any room to pull wide equip across and its was pain for me and oncoming divers. I dont have a hay baling business anymore so I dont have to deal with it now, except when I meet another farmer in my car. Really though its just one of those things you have to deal with when you live in the country. When I was driving though I would pull over and stop if i was pulling a wide load.

Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil

Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil

Bathe your leather in moisture! Leather is just like your skin in many ways. It needs protection and moisture to keep it looking youthful. Leatherique understands this has created Rejuvenator Oil for the health of your leather. It is known world wide for its ability to soften and restore even cardboard hard leather back to useful condition. A complex blend of proteins and collagens, with absolutely no oil fillers of any kind, it is totally unlike any other leather product. It will not stain or discolor leather and is perfectly safe even for equestrian use. Simply massage generously into the leather with your hands, brush, sponge, or use a spray bottle to mist, and let it be absorbed into the fibers. Its unique capillary action forces proteins into the leather and dirt out! Leather will be glove-soft, luxuriously supple, and strong! Prevents cracking, drying, and tearing. You may have heard of collagen as a key ingredient in hand lotion and facial cream. The face creams work on a process that allows nutrients to seep down into the layers of the skin and help them hydrate (retain moisture), plump the new skin cells, and restore elasticity . The collagen in Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil does the same thing for your leather. Although it was named Rejuvenator Oil by the company’s founding fathers, it actually contains no oil fillers such as mineral or petroleum oil. The formula is actually a complex blend of proteins and collagen that restore the tensile strength to the leather deep down. It does not harm carpeting or headliners and will also soften rubber door trim and vinyl. Repeated applications, with sufficient permeation time are required for cardboard hard, neglected leather. The enriching formula, once embedded in the leather fibers, continues to condition for several months. Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil contains no silicon that dries leather and no wax that merely sits on the surface and does nothing for the leather fibers themselves, and eventually wears away.
